The new Residence Hall at Fisk University is approximately 74,000 sq.ft., and will provide 54 shared rooms with bathrooms, equaling 216 student beds. In addition, 10 Resident Assistant rooms and one Director’s apartment are planned. The building will include program activity spaces. These areas will be strategically located throughout building with a higher concentration on the first floor for Fisk students to utilize. The ground floor will also include a control desk and reception area. There will also be a larger multipurpose room that can be flexible for different events on this floor. The building access control system and security cameras will provide round-the-clock security.

The new Residence Hall will be located prominently on campus on the former site of Scribner Hall and facing the Jubilee Hall Circle and student housing portion of the campus. This facility will be in close proximity to the current student center, Spence Hall, which provides dining services and will include more student center features in its proposed renovation/addition. The design of the new building will complement the existing architecture on campus and will provide a significant welcoming structure to visitors approaching the campus from historic Jefferson Street.
